About Gemma
Gemma Martini is the CEO of Martini Film Studios. She founded the company in 2016 after working in the construction materials industry for over twenty years. Gemma is actively achieving her goal of building additional production space to support the rapidly expanding film and television industry in British Columbia.
Recent accomplishments include expanding Martini Town, a New York Themed back lot, to provide filming opportunities for productions of all sizes. Visiting production can easily transform Martini Town into a magical land fit for a musical, “small town USA” where Christmas love happens, a post-apocalyptic city, and everything in between.
Gemma is passionate about bringing people together to initiate change. As the recently elected chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association (MPPIA), Gemma enjoys working closely with others in the sector to grow the industry’s positive impact on British Columbia’s economy and continue to build a global reputation as leaders in
sustainable production.
Collaboration is at the heart of Gemma’s passions, and with that spirit, has built trusted partnerships with other studios, production companies and industry leaders to introduce, educate and ready future crews in the trade to pave the pathway for a prepared, diverse entertainment workforce in British Columbia.
