Lyrics:

[Chorus]
Roll me up and smoke me when I die
And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye
I didn't come here and I ain't leavin'
So don't sit around and cry
Just roll me up and smoke me when I die

Now you won't see no sad and teary eyes
When I get my wings and it's my time to fly
Call my friends and tell 'em
There's a party, come on by
And just roll me up and smoke me when I die

[Chrous]
Roll me up and smoke me when I die
And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye
I didn't come here and I ain't leavin'
So don't sit around and cry
Just roll me up and smoke me when I die

[Instrumental bridge]

When I go out, I've been here long enough
So sing and tell more jokes and dance and stuff
Just keep the music playin', that'll be a good goodbye
Roll me up and smoke me when I die

[Chorus]
Roll me up and smoke me when I die
And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye
I didn't come here and I ain't leavin'
So don't sit around and cry
Just roll me up and smoke me when I die

[Instrumental bridge]

Hey, take me out and build a roarin' fire
Roll me in the flames for 'bout an hour
Then take me out and twist me up
And point me towards the sky
Roll me up and smoke me when I die

[Chorus]
Roll me up and smoke me when I die
And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye
I didn't come here and I ain't leavin'
So don't sit around and cry
Just roll me up and smoke me when I die
Just roll me up and smoke me when I die

SONG MEANING
This is honky-tonk music with a message. The song received several negative reviews upon its release as nothing but pandering to the stoner crowd. While it does promote pot, that misses the point. The reference serves as a metaphor for how Willie wants to be remembered: someone who valued a good time, made good music, and was, at heart, a good man. The second verse is the crux of the message. The chorus, with its mention of his 2004 good-time song, "I Didn't Come Here (And I Ain't Leavin')"
