Willie Nelson’s life journey is very much like following the current a river. He was 27 years-old when he moved to Nashville in 1960. He did not have immediate success. He knew he wasn’t the best guitar player or the best singer and even though he had a distinct style, it wasn’t a style that was in high demand. At some point, he began to gain some momentum with his songwriting. He released a couple of albums and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, but by 1972 he decided to retire from the music business and moved backed to Austin. He started hanging out in the clubs and playing around town and slowly, just following that “river of life,” he began writing songs and recording music that would catapult him to international stardom. Not too bad for someone who had “retired” from the music business!
