For today's On This Day in History, I am sharing one of my all-time favorite live shows. When you collect a bunch of live sets, you can see that some bands are spontaneous while others basically do the same things every night.. even down to the banter in between songs. Willie typically falls into the latter group of artists. Not that there's anything wrong with that, haha.
But this show was unique and special. Willie plays with an orchestra and had 1 rehearsal to prepare. You can hear him say at the end of the show that it was "without a net" but turned out pretty good. I agree, wonderful show.
The show is very dynamic- many quiet parts and a couple of louder ones. Turn it up.
