After being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame the previous year, Brooks was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on October 21, 2012. In 2016, he was additionally admitted to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum.
At Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20, 2021, Brooks gave "Amazing Grace" a performance.
