Troyal Garth Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 7, 1962.

Garth Brooks has become an American country music singer, songwriter and absolute country music icon.

Garth Brooks incorporates both rock and pop elements into the country genre has earned him popularity, especially in the United States, with success on the country music single and album charts, multi-platinum recordings, record-breaking live performances, as has also crossed over into the mainstream pop arena.

The Garth Brooks has published a total of 23 albums since 1989, including 13 studio albums, 3 live albums, three compilation albums, three Christmas albums, and four box sets, as well as 77 singles.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous honors, including two Grammy Awards and 17 American Music Awards.

With over 170 million recordings sold, Brooks is one of the most successful musicians ever. With 156 million domestic units sold as of 2020, the RIAA reports that he is the best-selling solo artist in the US, surpassing Elvis Presley, and is second only to the Beatles in terms of overall album sales. After being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame the previous year, Brooks was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on October 21, 2012. In 2016, he was additionally admitted to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum.

At Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20, 2021, Brooks gave "Amazing Grace" a performance.
