Queen Elizabeth II has been remarkably active throughout her record-breaking stint as the British monarch. Recently, however, Her Majesty has been forced to slow down a bit. She was largely absent from the Royal Family Christmas engagements of 2016 and her absence even sparked rumors that she had passed away. Of course, Buckingham Palace quickly put those rumors to rest by explaining that the Queen was suffering from a winter’s cold and had been ordered to remain indoors by her medical team so she could give herself a chance to heal up.

While Elizabeth did bounce back from her Christmas illness, the whole ordeal drove home a fact that the people of Great Britain had spent many years trying to ignore: the Queen is going to die.
