This was a fun one. I had the idea quite a while ago and recorded the technical difficulties portion just to get it down. I was experimenting with a sample from Highwayman by the Highwaymen, but ended up removing it later on, though I kept the song playing distantly at the issues part to reference how this track began. The concept is comparing the two main music scenes - a small, peaceful band playing in the park and a hyped-up dance festival at a venue. The two scenes transition back and forth. The failure part is to symbolize my issues (mainly OCD), but has the facade of being a technical problem with the EDM show. The announcer and smaller audience applauding is taken from my old performances at a theater I used to play at that closed down. This song has a lot of depth and layers, so listening more than once is recommended. There's a lot you won't catch the first time around. I added a lot of popular sound effects at the issues part as well as original recordings of me. My sister can also be heard at one point saying, "I'm going to California," which is an inside joke. Near the start of the festival section, I shout "can you feel it, Albany?" as a shout out to the city I grew up near (in NY, not GA). In the background, Billy Squier's The Stroke is played in the intro, Highwayman by the Highwaymen can be faintly heard during the difficulties part, and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is going at the end. I sampled and referenced other songs as well, using the tambourines from Shooting Stars by Bag Raiders, the top percussion from Knox Hill's The Departed, and a snare-like sound from You Changed Everything by Ellie Goulding, as well as the tempo-setting drumstick clicks and counting from BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge video of many artists performing Times Like These by Foo Fighters. Those are some Easter eggs I'll spill out. This took me a long time and a lot of drafts to make, as you'd imagine. Listen for everything and enjoy this crazy track. God bless :)
