Waylon, stage name of Willem Bijkerk (Apeldoorn, April 20, 1980), is a Dutch singer.
From an early age he was inspired by country music and played drums in/with the band West Virginian Railroad.
Waylon took part in the first season of Holland's Got Talent on SBS6 in 2008. He impressed during his audition by singing the song "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. Jury members Henkjan Smits and Patricia Paay were full of praise.
Bijkerk named itself after his idol Waylon Jennings. In 2008 he broke through with his album Wicked ways. With Ilse DeLange he was the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 as The Common Linnets. They took second place. As a solo artist, he also represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, where he finished eighteenth.
Als voorproefje van zijn derde reeks Top 1000-concerten verscheen Waylon in november in De Wereld Draait Door met zijn versie van de Meat Loaf-klassieker "Paradise by the Dashboard Light".
