No manufacturer has built more roller coasters in history than Vekoma rides, averaging nearly 10 a year over just under half a century. Beginning with a series of large looping coasters for the time, these custom layouts and boomerangs were notorious for headbanging and rough rides for their first decade. Later, they would venture into small indoor and junior coasters, before making a big splash with a large but also shaky suspended looping coaster. After the peak of the roller coaster wars where they didn’t contribute much in terms of record breaking rides, they would begin to experiment with innovative concepts of flying, tilting, and motorbike coasters. Then, finally innovating their track standards and developing reliable LSM launches, they would take a massive leap to become the most sought after manufacturer in the industry, producing glass smooth rides that were loved by guests around the world.
