"Try and try again" (Billy Joe Shaver) - Day 55

#letsdoasongeachnightwhilewecan (Day 55) - today a song written by the legendary Billy Joe Shaver. His music was covered by everyone that means anything in the business from Elvis to Bob Dylan and hundreds of others, including Johnny Cash, The Allman Brothers.. You name it..

Had the honor once as being his roadmanager in NL on a short European tour. Only later i found out that it was at that time his first ever gig in NL ???? ????

Picked him up at the Airport Schiphol Amsterdam, him and two pickers Jerry Hollingsworth and Panama Red. That's how how we got to know eachother. By the next gig in NL in Haarlem with a full band i was on the guestlist with my oldest son..
What an artist, what a performer, what a songwriter, class, just top class.. And stories ????

Played this one a lot in France with Panama Red on our summer tours from 2003 on...

The only schedule on this series is that there is none. Just a different song every day, that's all there is to it. Some will suck, some will be quite okay; and all 'verdicts' in between, too.
