'The River' is a song written by Garth Brooks and Victoria Shaw, and it is probably the most inspirational song I have ever known. It was released in 1992 on the Garth Brooks album 'Ropin' the Wind' and has also been recorded by Victoria Shaw on her album 'Old Friends New Memories'. The song is one for the dreamers. It explains how the dreamer will follow their dreams, comparing it to being in a vessel floating down a river, trying to stay afloat and not hit shore.

For me, it is a song that has guided me through tough times over the years and even to this day, the line 'I'll never reach my destination if I never try' has always worked as my life's motto. So here I am still trying.
