Then, it’s on to his infamous stint in a Mexican jail while en route to the 1980 season finale at Ontario … a race he would win with Benny Parsons behind the wheel.

After that, David remembers parting ways with … first … Benny … and then team owner M.C. Anderson and driver Cale Yarborough.
