This ancient green lane to the north of Lincoln is a popular spot with locals. It's origins may go back as far as Roman times, as a link between Ermine Street to the east, and a villa known to be in the vicinity of Burton village in the west. But whatever it's origins it has a fascinating history, including highwaymen, murder, and an innocent man convicted and hung. Well worth Googling separately. This video also includes some interesting views of Lincoln from the north around sunset.
