Scripture - 2nd Timothy 3: 16-17
Theme: Sometimes reading/English teachers can become too carried away by their favorite piece of literature when they teach it. In the 8th grade, my English teacher had us learn all about the poem "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes. Unfortunately, we studied only that poem for 6 weeks; by the time we finished, all of us were so bored with the poem (and more than a few of us HATED it!)
As teachers of the Bible, Pastors and teachers have a responsibility to teach the Bible accurately, wisely, and well. We do NOT have the right to make those lessons boring. If we do so, we run the risk of turning our students away from the Bible!
