On October 16th, 2019 country music icon Tanya Tucker performed the first of two sold-out, standing-room only shows at L.A.'s legendary Troubadour. In the midst of resurgent visibility and acclaim generated by While I'm Livin', her recently released album produced by Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings, the brief stand in front of the West Hollywood tastemaker crowd took on a palpable air of significance. Was Tanya really back and ready to reclaim her rightful place in pantheon of country music greats? From the first chords of her classic, "Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)," that question was never in doubt.
Tanya Tucker "Live From The Troubadour" features 15 songs including her smash first single "Delta Dawn," and a cache of Tanya's #1 country hits such as "Strong Enough To Bend," "What's Your Mama's Name," "Blood Red and Goin' Down," and the aforementioned "Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)." The set also includes a sublime medley of Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" and Cash's "Ring of Fire" and six songs from what shortly would become the GRAMMY-winning Country Album of the Year, While I'm Livin', including "Mustang Ridge," "The Wheels of Laredo," "Hard Luck," and the gorgeous, poignant title track, which also went on to win the GRAMMY for Song of the Year. (Nominated 10 times previously, Tanya's two GRAMMY wins were the first of her illustrious career.)

Lyrics
What`s your mama`s name, child?
What`s your mama`s name?
[Verse 1:]
Thirty some odd years ago
A young man came to Memphis
Asking about a rose
That used to blossom in his world
People never took the time
To mind the young man`s questions
Until one day
They heard him ask a little green eyed girl
[Chorus:]
What`s your mama's name, child?
What`s your mama's name?
Does she ever talk
About a place called New Orleans?
Has she ever mentioned
A man named Buford Wilson?
What`s your mama`s name, child?
What`s your mama`s name?
[Verse 2:]
Twenty some odd years ago
A drunk down in Memphis
Lost a month of life and labor to the county jail
Just because he asked
A little green eyed girl a question
And offered her a nickel`s worth of candy
If she`d tell
A year and some odd days ago
An old man died in Memphis
Just another wayward soul the county had to claim
Inside the old man`s ragged coat
They found a faded letter
It said you have a daughter
And her eyes are Wilson green
[Chorus:]
What`s your mama's name, child?
What`s your mama's name?
Does she ever talk
About a place called New Orleans?
Has she ever mentioned
A man named Buford Wilson?
What`s your mama's name, child?
What`s your mama's name?
What`s your mama's name, child?
What`s your mama's name?
