Satomi Hofmann: Moondance / Whiskey in the Jar

Satomi Hofmann is a Broadway, television, film, and commercial actress, a voice-over artist, singer, musician, composer, arranger, music director, and podcast host.

Hofmann began her creative pursuits as a classically trained pianist, working with the likes of classical music greats Yehudi Menuhin and Leif Bjaland.

After graduating from UCLA's prestigious theater program, Hofmann began working as a professional performer while never letting go of her music roots. Her skills led her to playing leading lady to the original Phantom (Michael Crawford) from "The Phantom of the Opera", along with David Cassidy, in the Las Vegas production show "EFX" at MGM Grand.

Never satisfied in her mission to create, Hofmann became a founding member of fan-favorite, all-female Celtic rock band Killian's Angels, in which she sang and played keyboards, guitar, spoons, bass, and percussion for seven years.

Hofmann's acting work finally led her towards her dream of becoming a Broadway performer, which she fulfilled when she joined the cast of "The Phantom of the Opera" in New York City, bringing her full-circle to the boards Crawford had graced so many years before.

Hofmann's television credits include CBS' "FBI: Most Wanted", HBO's "Mare of Easttown", CBS' "Bull", NBC's "New Amsterdam", NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", NBC's "The Blacklist", and TBS' "Earth to America".

Heritage of Pride is the non-profit organization that plans and produces New York City's official LGBTQ+ Pride events. Each year, the events commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 — the beginning of the modern Gay Rights movement. On June 26, 2016, "NYC Pride 2016: PrideFest" was held, presented by T-Mobile, and hosted by Bianca Del Rio, with Parson James as the featured musician. During the event, Broadway Sings for Pride coordinated a live performance segment.

According to organizers, around 30,000 people marched in the parade itself. Law enforcement officials expected that there would be around 2.5 million attendees in total, and that more or less comports with CBS News' reporting, which found that almost 2 million spectators joined the marchers.

Hofmann performed the songs "Moondance" and "Whiskey in the Jar" during the event, where Shefik served as Videographer.

"Moondance" is a song recorded by Northern Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison and is the title song on his third studio album, "Moondance" (1970).

"Whiskey in the Jar" is an Irish traditional song about a rapparee (highwayman), who is betrayed by his wife or lover. It is one of the most widely performed traditional Irish songs and has been recorded by numerous artists since the 1950s. Killian's Angels recorded the song for their album "Ladies Room", released in 2004.
