Rock Killough and The MkNyte Brothers toured night clubs, honky tonks and bars in the Southeast in the early 1980's, making loyal fans with their own unique sound and energy. The performances on these CDs were recorded live from the board (thanks, Jack!), so if you came to the club or honky tonk that night, this is what you would have heard. If you saw the band when it was active, these CDs will bring memories. Thank you to all our fans for your love and support through the years. Rock, Randy Moon and Ken Beal formed the core of the band around 1977, and were part of the "Git Back Band" that toured with Hank Cochran opening shows for Willie Nelson during the summer of 1980. Soon after this tour ended, David (Rube) Brazeal, Bill (Catfish) Austin, Robert BeThea and Randy Harrold joined and they became the MkNyte Brothers (a combination of Rock's nickname and Ken's artsy nature), playing their original songs and creative new arrangements of old standards. During this time, they recorded the album, "Music From The Cotton Belt". Around 1982, Tommy Gardner replaced Catfish and the band began the 4 year tour of the Southeast, producing these recordings. “These tracks were recorded onto cassette tapes under various conditions in several locations, so sound is not always consistent. We chose the best cuts we could find, some of which were at the end of the set or the end of the night. Therefore, you will hear ”be back shortly” or “be back tomorrow” a few times. Hope you enjoy hearing these songs as much as we did, hearing them after 35 years.” - RK
