Welcome to Complicated Things! We’re celebrity portrait photographer Mark Mann and fashion photographer Alex Hooks. In this episode, we’ll show you the remote broadcasting set-up we’ve been using to work with remote clients during Covid.

This set-up allows remote clients to watch what’s happening and give feedback in real time, and helps us keep our crew size as small as possible. It’s our go-to Covid set-up but is also what we use any time we have a client who can’t make it to the studio. This is designed for photography specifically, but would also work with minor tweaks for film & video shoots.

This first episode is a walk-through of our remote broadcasting build. It shows how we set up our remote broadcasting station and the gear we use to do it. Part two will show off the remote broadcasting set-up in action at an actual shoot.
