(Pony Express originally formed in 1968 as 'The Country Scene' and played the pub and club circuit of South East England. In 1970 they changed their name to 'Root 5' and appeared at the BBC's Paris Studio Piccadilly for The Jimmy Young Show and The Tony Blackburn Show. They also appeared on 'Up Country' with Dave Cash BBC Radio live from The Nashville Rooms and were the opening band for Lonnie Donegan at that same venue in the 1970s. In 1975 their name changed to 'Renegade' and eventually they became 'Pony Express' in 1977. Their original harmonica player was Martin Monahan but Mark Feltham joined them for 2 years in 1979/80.
This video was filmed at The Roebuck, Lewisham, where they'd held a regular Saturday night slot for many years.
