Omega Productions records Highwaymen TV Special at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas

The Highwaymen Tour TNN TV Special with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson was a special memory. Over the years the company has had the privilege of working with over 300 major recording artists and film personalities, but this project was indeed special.

Omega previously worked with Willie, Waylon, Johnny, and Kris on several outings, but having the opportunity to record them together as the Highwaymen and for this TNN TV Special was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The concert was shot and recorded at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas on December 10, 1991, and released in 1992. Engineers on the project were Stan “Duck” Dacus, Ken Raymer, Steve Lowney and Julie Haldeman.

The members of The Highwaymen backing band are:

Mickey Raphael: harmonica
Robbie Turner: pedal steel guitar, dobro & mandolin

Gene Crismans: drums
J.R. Cobb: rhythm guitar, vocals
Reggie Young: lead guitar
