This classic blues track was originally written by Huddie Ledbetter, a.k.a. “Lead Belly,” in 1940, and was made famous by the likes of Odetta, Buck Owens, The Highwaymen, and more folk-rock acts throughout the years. CCR put their own memorable spin on the song for their 1969 album, WILLY AND THE POOR BOYS. Who else is pulling out their LP to listen today?
