I redid this because it wasn't loud enough.
And thus did Merlin succeed Arthur and become a minstrel too.
It seems like around the late 60s and early 70s,a lot of European actors tried their hand at singing.Richard Burton originated the role of King Arthur on Broadway in Camelot in 1960 and and sang reasonably well.Richard Harris who played King Arthur in the movie Camelot in 1967,and later on stage in the 80s,embarked on a recording career, with mixed results, and later in the 70s future Daddy Warbucks Albert Finney, having proven he could sing with the movie musical "Scrooge",would record an album too, titled accurately enough "Albert Finney's Album",which is also available on YouTube, but Nicol's efforts are sadly forgotten.Eleven years before he played Merlin in the non-musical movie Excalibur (1981),Nicol tried his hand at singing. He did it first on a late night television chat show in England in March of 1970,and when the results were regarded as successful,he tried his hand at recording in 1971,with mixed results.Ironically,he even starts this album with one of the same songs Richard Harris recorded on his first album.I'd say Nicol had more breath control than Richard Harris did at the time.
