Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.

Mitch Rossell is a country artist who has spent this year touring with Garth Brooks. Mitch has written many hit songs, including Brooks’ “Ask Me How I Know,” “That’s What Cowboys Do,” “All Day Long,” and “Dive Bar.”

He is married with three children and loves working in the music industry.

Here are the questions I asked Mitch:

When did you first get interested in music?
What is the process normally like for you when you’re writing a song?
Can you tell me about the time you first met Garth Brooks?
What is it like performing in front of thousands of people and do you get nervous?
What is your ultimate dream as a music artist?
Have you ever been to Idaho and tried our famous potatoes?
What’s your favorite junk food?

BONUS QUESTIONS

Who is the person you’d love to collaborate or perform with?
What’s the biggest thing someone needs to know if they want to pursue a career in music?
Can you share some advice for me?
