I wrote this song in memory of my Daddy - Sean Kelly - whom we sadly lost in 2016. In the last few months of his life, he struck up an amazing friendship with a wee robin. He'd no sooner be out in his back yard than his feathered friend would come flying around him - even going so far as perching on his hand sometimes!
After Daddy passed away, our family noticed that often we'd be thinking of him and missing him and, lo and behold, a wee robin would appear - no matter where we were. We've always saw it as a sign of comfort and peace - Daddy is calling in to tell us he's ok. ❤️
On the day of the first anniversary of Daddy's passing, I was feeling melancholy as expected...missing my hero. Outside, on my window ledge, a wee robin bounced around all day. I knew it had to be a sign and I wrote this song on that very day.
I'm joined here for this version by my two talented friends, Plunkett McGartland and Mark Carmichael.
