The effects of the Blight were already being felt in Lothering with refugees pouring in from the south; the village bereft of soldiers leaving just the Chantry Templars for protection; and Highwaymen and Bandits preying upon the weak. The group put their skills to work removing the Bandit threat and gaining two new companions; a Chantry sister with a mysterious past, Leliana; and a Qunari warrior named Sten. As they left the village they ran into Darkspawn and saved the merchant and his son, who promised them discount for their services.

Upon the morrow the group turned their gaze towards Denerim; the heart of Fereldan.
