But the saddest part of all is never knowing ...This song is so beautiful and so sad...

One of my very favourite songs of Kris.
It's from Kris' album "Surreal Thing" (1976)

I made the vid with scenes from the movie
"A star is born" (1976). Great movie, though you need to read the book to completely understand it. They left a few important scenes out, for whatever reason... I think some songs of Kris' "Surreal thing" album could have been to the soundtarck of that movie...
Kris received a Golden Globe award for best actor for his role. He even was almost to write the lyrics for the song "Evergreen" that got the Oscar award for best song. Means he wrote some, but didn't give them to Barbra Streisand. Guess he thought they were not perfect for the Lady?
I wished he would have done it... I'm sure they were at least as good as... He sent them to her years later and then she said they were great...
The movie won five Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Kris), Best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Streisand), Best Original Score (Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher) and Best Original Song, (Streisand-music/ Williams-lyrics for "Evergreen").
The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Evergreen", and was also nominated in the categories of Best Cinematography (Robert Surtees), Best Sound (Robert Knudson, Dan Wallin, Robert Glass and Tom Overton) and Original Music Score (Roger Kellaway).
