Hermit Woods Winery & Katie Dobbins Music partner together to present a monthly music series titled Songwriter RoundUp, where audience members can enjoy talented singer-songwriters from the New England Area in the Lakes Region’s premier listening room. Enjoy songs and stories from host Katie Dobbins and two additional guest acts as they perform acoustically in-the-round.
Katie Dobbins
Award winning singer-songwriter and light warrior Katie Dobbins seeks to share honest music that captivates listeners and brings light to the darkness. With a mastery of storytelling and the heart of a poet, this soulful songstress captures elements of life and relationships in ways that lift the spirit and challenge the soul. Her album There Is Light, produced by multi-award-winning producer Sean McLaughlin of 37′ Productions, was awarded Album of the Year at the 2021 Limelight Music Awards. Her single There’s a Light, mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Jeff Lipton, was featured on Spotify’s Editorial playlist. Her music has been featured on prominent radio stations like The River and “Boston’s Hottest Country,” with host Carolyn Kruse raving “Sweet but bold, Katie’s voice is reminiscent of one of her heroes, Jewel, but only deeper… A fearless spirit with a gentle touch.” Dobbins’ latest single Giants is an uplifting anthem designed to awaken the spirit and strength within us. The track was mixed and mastered by Emmy-nominated producer Brian Coombes of Rocking Horse Studio (NH), whom Katie plans to release more new music with this year.
Lexi James
Lexi James walks on stage armed with a fierce command of the converging genres of country and pop music. She has amassed a large fan following, and has several major performances under her belt including performing with Jordan Davis, Phil Vassar, Brad Paisley, and the incomparable late Charlie Daniels. She performs with soulful vocals, captivating lyricism, and an alluring stage presence. What distinguishes her from the rest of the pack is her undeniable charisma on and off the stage – she sure knows how to leave an impression.
Lexi James continues to push her music into new realms, with her newest self-produced work, “Leaving Me Slowly” written, recorded, and produced in New England, from which she hails. Her 2018 release “Ripple in The Water” features songs written by Lexi, co-written by Carrie Underwood, and was recorded with Grammy and ACM award winner, Julian King. It has since solidified Lexi’s music and image as unapologetically authentic. Her 2016 album “Brave” is no different in its authenticity, as it offers listeners a complex experience of her hurt and loss that are paired with courageously uplifting songs. Such is true with the title track “Brave” which challenges listeners to embrace their inner fire with its driving lyrics.
Born in Lowell, MA, Singer/songwriter Charlie Chronopoulos got his start performing as a guitarist in regional lounges and ballrooms, sharing the stage as a teen with classic acts such as Grand funk railroad, Cheap Trick, and the Doobie Brothers.
In addition to writing and producing his own work, he serves as a session guitarist for several multi-platinum and Grammy winning artists including Jelly Roll, Joyner Lucas Serj Tankian(System of a Down), and Chris Webby. In addition to studio and touring, Charlie has performed on several Broadway productions under Tony winning director Diane Paulus when he served as the lead guitarist for the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University. Chronopoulos credits this time with re- invigorating his love of storytelling and performance art.
Charlie writes and produces out of an 1800’s mill building set on a waterfall in rural NH, where he captures a raw, creeky, and live feeling in the vaulted wooden space.
His first self produced record was nominated for album of the year by the New England music awards. “Dead end” is a stripped down compilation of songs that play out like short stories, centering around the stories of family and friends he witnessed struggling with addiction during his time performing in lounges in greater Lowell, MA.
His collective work as a session guitarist has been streamed over 100 million times.
His latest release ” Don’t say a thing” is the first release off his upcoming album he describes as his ‘Outlaw Rumours’
