Years ago, I believe in 2014, I had correspondence with a guy and we were talking about rap duo Atmosphere's album God Loves Ugly. He listed off some praise I don't really remember, but he ended off with something like "and most importantly, it is inexorably dripping and linked with nostalgia". Each and every one of us has songs we've listened to in our formative years, even out of our formative years that will always mean more to us because of the memories. It will transport us to emotions we remember fondly, or not fondly. In the last year and a half I started a new job. I have this defunct LG K10 that I use as a music device on drives. On it was Just Neighbors' album Being Where I Thought I'd Be. I didn't remember putting it there, but I put it on and was immediately taken with it, and now I can't stop associating all its sounds with working that summer of 2021. I was a little happier back then, or maybe just more ignorant. Brilliant sunsets, nice people, good music. I've certainly fallen for these albums since then, these sounds, the guitars, the drums, the voices, the words. Sometimes, I See Colors Too is right up there with Slint's Good Morning, Captain. Coffee Gets Cold is the anthem of my life right now. I could go on and on about every single song, but there's just never a dull moment with Just Neighbors.

Inside Voices (2021) is an acoustic foray for the band, and also prominently features vocal work more than any other album thus far. Maybe it's the length of the album, but I've listened to it more than any other of Just Neighbors (and that's saying a LOT). A snapshot of covid stay inside culture in 26 minutes of wonderful acoustic guitarring.
