Johnny Cash: 60 Second Bio

Johnny Cash, born on 26th February 1932 in Arkansas, was an American icon and one of the most influential musicians in the history of country music.
Cash's career took off in the 1950s with the release of hits like "I Walk the Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues." Known for his distinctive deep voice and rebellious image, he blended country, rockabilly, and folk, creating a genre-defying sound that resonated with a wide audience.
In 1955, he signed with Sun Records and became a contemporary of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.
Cash produced numerous legendary songs, including "Ring of Fire" and "A Boy Named Sue." He used his music to address social issues and famously performed at Folsom and San Quentin prisons.
He also acted in films, wrote books, and had his own television show.
Throughout his career he received numerous awards and honours, including multiple Grammy's.
Johnny Cash's life and work are celebrated for their musical brilliance and the profound impact he had on American culture and society.
