“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” was written by Edward Pola and George Wyle in 1963. In the same year, the popular Christmas song was recorded and released by Andy Williams for his Christmas album “The Andy Williams Christmas Album.” The Williams version has been in the Billboard “Top 10 Holiday Songs” since 2001. Other notable versions have been recorded by Johnny Mathis, Garth Brooks, and Harry Connick Jr., among others. With a theme of celebrating the Christmas season with shared activities between family and friends, the song has been commonly used in advertising, parodies, film, and television. Creating a jazz waltz feel to the music, pianist Charles Manning improvises the wonderful Christmas song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
