No man sky was a game that I had written off in 2016. While I have enjoyed the redemption arc of Hello games I found the actual gameplay rather bland and repetitive. HOWEVER... Virtual reality has changed all that. The gameplay is still pretty bad overall. It's just collecting materials and scanning weird mish mash animals for the most part. Yet when I stand on the edge of a cliff, Gazing out over an alien world as a true to scale planetary body slowly eclipses the sun and dips into the horizon bathing the landscape in an otherworldly gloom one cannot help but ponder the very meaning of life itself. Or perhaps I'm just easily impressed.... Either way, no man sky really is a virtual universe that you can become truly immersed in to live out your Sci-fi Star Trek fan fiction fantasies.
