The Johnny Cash video 'Hurt' was to be his last official release. June Carter died 3 months after filming and Johnny followed her 4 months later. I have always enjoyed his music and wanted to record an instrumental version of one of his songs. The very moving and powerful video depicts Johnny Cash's brevity of life, and the gracelessness of death in the face of his own ailing health. Although 'Hurt' was originally written by Nine Inch Nails, I'll always consider it a Johnny Cash song.
