The Bee Gees were one of the most unique music groups of the 60s and 70s. They produced a sound and style that was unique and has stood the test of time. Their music was made timeless when they produced the soundtrack for the blockbuster film Saturday Night Fever. No doubt, their music will continue to inspire others.
Sadly, three of the Bee Gees and their mother, Barbara are no longer with us. They left behind a legacy of great music and artistry.
Robin Gibb left us in 2012 from a kidney failure. His vibrato vocals were a perfect complement to Barry’s falsetto singing. Maurice Gibb left us in 2003 following surgery to his intestine. He died due to cardiac arrest. He was a multi-faceted musician who played the keyboard, guitar, and percussion instruments.
Andy Gibb died well before his brothers in 1988 at the age of 30. He died from an inflammatory heart virus due to cocaine addiction. Nevertheless, he helped the Bee Gees become one of the most popular pop groups of their era.
The Bee Gees got their musical talents from their mother Barbara. She died at the age of 95 in 2016. In the early days of their career, The Bee Gees had their parents manage their careers.
Barry Gibb is the surviving member of The Bee Gees. He misses his brothers and often talks about their talents and how The Bee Gees became popular. We hope that for many more years we’ll get to learn about this talented group of brothers and how they transformed popular music.
