So I'm going a little country again. This is Country I liked. So far in the past several of my British guitar player friends on YT have not known the song, so here is the link to the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFkcAH-m9W0

When I first heard this song I was eager to know who it was cuz it sounded like 4 country artists I grew up with. The Highwaymen I found and it was the 4 I recognized. Another one on the album caught my ear, "Desperados Waiting for a Train". So, Highwayman was on my list for a couple of years and I finally got to it. It was the lead riffs that were the initial hook for me, by Reggie Young (more on him below). It was Reffies riffs that also hooked meon "Silver Stallion" that I did a while ago by these guys.
I used all my standard equipment on this one with a few days of tweaking every time I played some of it.

Reggie was a leading session musician with The Memphis Boys. He played on various recordings with artists such as Elvis Presley, Dobie Gray, Joe Tex, Merrilee Rush, B.J. Thomas, John Prine, Dusty Springfield, Herbie Mann, J.J. Cale, Dionne Warwick, Roy Hamilton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, the Box Tops, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard, Joey Tempest, George Strait, and The Highwaymen. Young was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019.
