I recently learned about this tune from my friend Antonio (Pepin) Menendez, who suggested I might learn this, and I found that I really enjoyed it! I met Pepin through a wonderful organization called Adopt an Inmate, which pairs prisoners who are lonely with penpals on the outside. https://adoptaninmate.org

I enjoyed listening to the many, many covers of this song that have been done by artists across musical genres, including Joan Baez, Willie Nelson, Gladys Knight, Elvis, and too many others to name.
