Great Big Rollin Big Boy (based on the song "Great Big Rollin Railroad" by Bill Fries)
It's Big Boy 4014, A train that everyone should know!
It was built in New York’s ALCO plant, So many years ago!
It's the biggest locomotive, The world has ever seen
It's Big Boy 4014, and it's making history!
From its home at Rail giants, To the roundhouse in Cheyenne
Through Utah and Wyoming Where restoration soon began
As promised it returned again in 2019,
It's Big Boy 4014, and it's making history.
Bound for Ogden, and Chicago, California and Tucson
And many more destinations on the Union Pacific line
There's an echo in the canyons, you can hear that whistle blow,
It’s Big Boy 4014 and it’s a-pullin' a heavy load!
Thundering through the deserts, to the mountains and the plains
Fired up and ready to roll, back to full throttle steam
Up the Sherman Hill and the Wasatch, you can see him make that climb!
It’s Big Boy 4014 and he’s movin at record time
Yeah, big boy 4014 and he’s movin at record time

The Altar Billies are a trio from Orange County California fronted by guitarist/vocalist Michael W Stand. Rounding out the group are Johnny X on upright and Chuck Cummings on Drums. The group covers many classics hits, as well as newly penned originals.

The fellas have been playing all over Southern California for coming up to 10 years now. They've enjoyed such venues as the Anaheim House of Blues, The Observatory in Costa Mesa, Orange Street Fair, Silverado Canyon concert series, as well as many clubs in the OC area. They have also opened several times for local OC icon Big Sandy, as well as for Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats..

The group has released several singles recorded live at NRG studios in Hollywood (recording studio for such acts as No Doubt and John Fogerty). Both "Hold on" and "You Can't Look Up, when you're Look'n Down" are available on itunes and on youtube via the "Altar Billies Youtube Channel."

In 2014 they released their first full length project: "Head'n Out West" Each song on "Head'n out West" is a testament to the band's firm believe in God, family and country. There is more to this group than meets the eye, as this 15 song musical adventure sought to establish the group as a viable and serious rockabilly/ Americana act. "Head'n out West" brings plenty to the table and more, in a "Spirit of lightening" that will surely keep you rock'n, dance'n, shake'n and move'n.

2016 found the fellas hitting the trail once again with their latest release: “Long, Long Road.” With this project the group has fine-tuned their sound so that it is “as sharp as a tack.” “Long, Long Road” finds Michael W expanding his songwriting skills to incorporate aspects of swing jazz with songs such as “Hot,” “Tumbleweed,” and “Hot (Big Band Version).”

The title of the project, “Long, Long Road,” not only reflects the idea of staying the course and finishing strong, but reflects the “long” hours invested into the making of this project.

The Altar Billies are proud to carry the rockabilly torch and keep this musical heritage alive, and relevant. They are 3 swell guys that work hard, play together really well and have a good time in the process, and "yes" they like trains."
