A judge has denied Garth Brooks' request to dismiss a sexual assault lawsuit filed by his former makeup artist, “Jane Roe.” US District Judge Michael Fitzgerald ruled that the case in California will be paused due to a similar legal action still pending in Mississippi. Brooks initially filed a lawsuit in September, seeking to block the suit, which alleges that he raped the woman in 2019. The lawsuit also claims that Brooks exposed himself, groped her, and made sexually charged comments during their work trip for a Grammy tribute to Sam Moore. Brooks denied the allegations and filed an amended complaint accusing the woman of extortion and defamation. He maintains the lawsuit is an attempt to extort him for money. Brooks is awaiting further legal proceedings in Mississippi, where the woman resides.
