About Adam Martin:

After coming home from Iraq in 2004, I needed an outlet to help relieve stress and readjust to life. I taught myself how to play the guitar by watching YouTube videos and starting singing (or trying to) about a year later. Two years ago I started writing songs and playing live. It was then that David Bruce, a life-time musician and songwriter, offered to play bass. Today, we are Blackbird Anthem, an independent band in the heartland of Florida making music people connect with.

People often ask what type of music we play and we just say American rock n' roll. Before the days of labeling music by category or genre, before there were such things as alternative, pop country, indie rock, outlaw country, and southern rock, there was just good old American Rock n' Roll. Legends like Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, and the Rolling Stones played a blend of country, blues, rock, and folk to create a sound that was called Rock n' Roll.
We share the belief that great Rock n' Roll music doesn't have to fit into any one category. It's all music, and it's all Rock n' Roll. Our songs tell stories of love, heartache, one night stands, tattoos, alcohol, and the effects of war. All the things that make American rock music so great.
