Shopkins is a range of tiny, collectable toys, manufactured by Moose Toys. Based on grocery store items, each plastic figure has a cute face and unique name. The collectable toys (which are designated as common, rare, ultra rare, special edition, limited edition, and exclusive) also have lines of clothing, trading cards, and other merchandise.

What are Shopkins?

Shopkins are range of little toy characters in the shape of different grocery store items.

The brightly coloured figurines, roughly an inch tall, have each been given their own face, name and personality.

For example, there is a chocolate chip cookie named Kooky Cookie, a candy bar named Cheeky Chocolate and a sweet apple named Apple Blossom.

Shopkins come with toy shopping bags and baskets, while youngsters can also get different grocery store playsets to house them.

The toys are billed as “super cute, super tiny, grocery-themed collectibles that kids go crazy for”. The slogan is “Once you shop… You can’t stop.”

There are hundreds of different characters to collect including rare, ultra rare and special edition figurines.

Who makes Shopkins?

Australian toy maker Moose Toys launched its first Shopkins range in 2014 and has seen “phenomenal growth” in 2016.

Shopkins inventor Jacqui Tobias leads the girls design team at Moose Toys and has been applauded for the global success of the craze.

The toys are on track to become the company’s biggest brand ever after the sale of more than 100 million Shopkins characters around the world.

Where can you buy Shopkins?

Shopkins can be bought from toy shops as well as major retailers such as Toys R Us, Argos and Tesco.

Parents can also buy Shopkins online on Amazon and Ebay. The collectables have their own Shopkins World website.
