The Highwaymen were a group of African American artists in the 1950s and 1960s who capitalized on Florida tourists' desires for souvenirs. They produced inexpensive but eye-catching landscapes and sold them out of the trunks of their cars along the state's eastern highways. Elissa Rudolph's presentation will outline the group's beginnings and what some of them are doing today.
