Ken Tizzard is a Canadian singer-songwriter, bassist and producer, known for his work as a member of the popular Canadian bands The Watchmen, Thornley and Ron Hynes. In 2003 Ken went into semi-retirement from the rock and roll world to continue to work in the music industry as a solo artist and producer. He has released several albums, including “Lost In Awe" and "No Dark No Light," which showcase his talent as a songwriter and musician. As well Tizzard has proven himself as a talented interpreter of other’s music as shown with his 2018 release of “A Good Dog Is Lost - A Collection of Ron Hynes Songs” and his covid collaboration record “All Together Now” which features 42 musicians from across Canada and the US recording versions of 12 of Ken’s favourite songs.

Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats is the current musical project for Ken Tizzard. Formed in 2016. The band consists of Tizzard on bass and vocals, alongside other talented Canadian musicians: Ken Grain (Bass), Neil Lucy (guitar) and Steve Dagg (drums). Their sound is a mix of country, rock and folk, with lyrics that are often introspective and deeply personal.

The band's latest single, "Drunk Stoned and Broke," is a catchy and upbeat track that tells the story of a wild night with friends and enemies and the well-known consequences. The song features Tizzard's signature Gretsch sound and powerful vocals, along with a driving drum beat and infectious guitar riffs.

Sadly, Music For Goats' drummer Steve Dagg passed away in 2022. Dagg was a highly respected musician in the Canadian music scene, having played with a number of notable acts throughout his career. His contributions to the band will be greatly missed, and his legacy as a talented drummer and musician will live on.

With the passing of Steve the band has decided to release a series of singles under the title “The Dagg Sessions” which will include all the drum tracks recorded with Steve before his passing in March of 2023. This will cumulate with a vinyl release of these songs in one space at the end of 2023.

Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats is the product of Newfoundland musician Ken Tizzard as he returns to his roots combining his passion for folk, bluegrass, punk and country. For 25 years Tizzard has filled out the low end as the propulsive bassist behind The Watchmen, co-founder and bassist for Canada’s 90’s rock band Thornley and also with Newfoundland’s greatest troubadour Ron Hynes.

Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats is made up of a cast of characters that have been moving about in Tizzard’s life for several years. All discovered in Tizzard’s current hometown of Campbellford, Ontario, Neil Lucy(guitar), Steve Dagg(drums) and Ken Grant(bass) the Goats are ready to share their new sound with the release of “End Of The World.” Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats plan to release three singles in 2021 followed up by a full length LP in Spring of 2022.

In 2020 Tizzard and the Goats recorded a live album composed of Tizzard’s back catalogue titled “Living The Dream” which was followed up at the end of the year with “Sketches Of Christmas.” During the last thee years the band explored new arrangements using acoustic and electric instruments combining elements of Tizzard’s past musical experiences in the world or rock, country, bluegrass and folk. Tizzard’s musical versatility has become a signature, as he once explained, "In the past, I've battled a lot with trying to find a character or niche with my music. Now I realize that maybe I'm a guy who doesn't do the same thing twice. Every record I've done has moved me in a different direction and onto a different career path. That's fine and it's fun!"
