Serious Review:
It might have been the fatigue talking, but this map kinda pissed me off, just like map14. It wouldn’t be too bad if it weren’t for one glaring atrocity in the map layout. Said atrocity is that a big ammo cache and megasphere are locked off unless you get the yellow key, which is located on a dropoff that is only accessible from the starting area. The yellow key is located on a dropoff to the right of the start. I chose to dropoff to the left, so I missed the yellow key entirely, meaning I had barely any ammo or health for the left fight. It was pretty miserable.
Now, there IS a way back to the start, but it is a staircase that lowers into the ground once the fight to the left is started. However, I didn’t notice it because it was always lowered into the ground when I walked over to the area. There is no way to raise it up again, even after the fight ends. As a result of all the lost cells, I couldn’t really kill the cyber at the end which kinda made me mad. Keep in mind at this point I thought the cell stash was inaccessible and I assumed my troubles were a result of the mapper refusing to place cells near the cyber.
The other thing I didn’t like was that it was a little misleading with the mancubi platforms at the end. There is an invisible floor to stop you from falling, but I didn’t know that, so I kept trying to platform across the pillars. If I would have known there was a floor there, it would have made that section a lot more comfortable.
Actually after looking at the footage I had cells but chose not to use them for some reason, idk why.
The beginning was alright though, and the map doesn’t look awful.
My Rating: 4.5/10
Difficulty: 8.5/10 (Very Hard)
