ONE: Fracking is an unconventional method of extracting oil and gas that requires vertical and horizontal drilling at great depths.

TWO: It is a very questioned technology since it prolongs the use of fossil-based hydrocarbons and the introduction of more CO2 into the atmosphere, in addition to requiring a large amount of water and toxic chemicals.

THREE: The environmental groups maintain that fracking produces contamination of aquifers, soils, waters and air. They indicate probable effects on health and increase in seismic activity.
