Mario Maccaferri designed the Selmer guitars the Django Reinhardt played - but as well as the "Modele Jazz" that Django played, Mario also created a "Modele Hawaienne" - a lap steel version, apparently in 6 and 7 string versions. Vancouver Luthier Michael Dunn has gone one further, creating an 8 string acoustic steel guitar in the Maccaferri style - including the internal resonator. Here is my instrumental version of the Willie Nelson classic "Crazy" played - unamplified - on this beautiful guitar. This instrument is for sale at present - you can message Michael Dunn on Facebook to get details.
