Gy Waldron created 'Moonrunners' a James Mitchum movie about a bootlegging family; with a few tweaks here and there he turned it into a tv show: 'Dukes of Hazzard'. The action comedy series ran for seven seasons on CBS. The cast was pretty consistent over that time - everyone seen in the season one opening titles is still there in season seven - although there was one hiccup. The two stars got into a contract dispute and season five featured two lookalikes playing previously unmentioned Hazzard relatives. Eventually the dispute was settled and the two newbies were given a quick send-off. Amidst a prosperous syndication life, controversy over the confederate flag roof on the boys' car led TV Land to drop the show. The catchy theme song, 'Good Ol' Boys', was written and performed by Waylon Jennings. We have three sets of opening titles (season one, season five with the substitute stars, and season seven) plus two closers.
