“Sheryl Guilbeau Cormier is the oldest of four children of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Guilbeau of Grande Coteau, Louisiana. She comes from a musically talented family. Her grandfather, father and mother played music. At the age of seven Sheryl learned to play on her father's accordion by sneaking it when he was working in the field. Later, Sheryl occasionally played with her father's band but never considered a music career.
