BRT is a high quality bus based transit system that delivers fast, comfortable and cost effective services at metro-level capacities.

Nairobi I set to become the first City in Kenya to roll out the BRT System after almost 5 years of planning. Bus RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) in Kenya is designed to improve capacity and reliability in cinjested cities. BRT is based on dedicated road lanes that cannot be used by vehicles other than large buses operated by BRT companies.

In Kenya, BRT also involve building new roads, interchanges, terminals and modern stations along the routs.

By the way of contrast, typical speed of BRT systems range from 17-30 miles per hour approximately 27 to 48 km/h

Therefore, BRT improves quality of life in cities at least in 4 key ways
1. By saving travell time
2.reducing greenhouse gas and local air pollution emissions
3. improving traffic safety
