Hey everybody! In today's lesson, we're going to learn the guitar solo from Willie Nelson's "Blue Eyes Cryin' In The Rain."
If you want to learn the rhythm parts, I have a lesson for that already, you'll find it here: https://youtu.be/-A3ByGc_Vfo
If you're interested in learning lead guitar, you should check out my FREE eBook covering the basics: https://goodguitarist.com/learn-lead-guitar/
As far as the lesson goes, it's pretty straight-forward. I take you through the solo bit-by-bit. The real challenge here (or opportunity) is in "stealing" the feel. Once you have the notes down, try to play along with the original and see how magical Willie's timing really is! And those dynamics (playing some notes softly, and making others "jump out") are incredible too.
This isn't some crazy country shred solo, but what it lacks in impressively fast notes and rhythms, it makes up for with EVERYTHING ELSE. So don't underestimate this one, or assume you already "got it" ... the notes are just the beginning - Willie has much to teach us all...
I hope you enjoy the lesson,
All the best!
