The Highwaymen: The Walker Collection of Florida Self-Taught Art will be on display in the Orange County Board of County Commissioners Chambers until September 14, 2023.

The Highwaymen captured America’s postwar spirit through the prodigious output of lively oil paintings that depicted tropical landscapes, a land of bountiful possibilities. Their vintage works drew people to the art and to Florida as a state of mind, a great escape. Many thanks to Lance Walker, executive producer of the documentary, The Highwaymen and the world’s leading collector of paintings by the Florida Highwaymen and Florida self-taught artists. Mr. Walker’s mission is to recognize and celebrate Florida’s self-taught and so-called outsider art and artists.
