Another fantastic open mic at Firefly Bar & Grill. Every week Derek Ferwerda puts on an amazing show, not only with passion and excitement, but also brings in a piece of Music Industry history, this week it was the visit from Rob Bonine, this gentleman was an accomplished Bassist, Singer Songwriter for Kris Kristofferson, Harlan Howard, Freddy Powers, John Prine, and Nanci Griffith, when I googled I recognized only Kris Krstofferson I have seen Kris in a few movies, Mel Gibson's Payback was one, Kris is supposedly like Amitabh Bachhan in the guitar world, it was nice to talk to Rob and hear feedback from Rob on Simone, he said Simone shows potential, his advice was expose Simone to as many playing events as possible, like Music Festivals, Youtube and Spotify. Thank you Derek Ferwerda for the opportunity and for running such an awesome open mic show with passion, excitement & authentic energy, that is what makes it so special. I don't see people that engage this much in events like these, nowadays. Folks thank you everyone including Michelle Miller, Jack Bandel Kitty Baker Wilmot, Kerrie Tisone, RIley Dennis and many others for the cheering, encouragement and support, it was nice being part of the tribe.

Simone Puga:
Singer, Song Writer, Pianist, Guitarist, Artist, Story Teller

Simone is a budding Song Writer, Pianist, Guitarist, Singer, Artist, Story Teller & Performer. Simone has been coming up with songs since she is 5 years old (check out the Extempore section). Simone has been training in Piano and Singing since then and has added a number of songs to her musical repertoire.

Simone's music composition "Snap your fingers" (https://youtu.be/okjJ8OCkJjQ) won the prize in 3rd grade at the school level PTA sponsored Reflections competition and was sent to the council level competition, where it won the "Honorable Mention" award at the North Fulton Council (NFC) level competition, this was included in the Honorable mention category because typically 2nd graders (Simone was in 2nd grade at this time) were not considered for participation in this category. And this was not sent to the State level because 2nd graders are considered too young to come up with their own songs at such a tender age.
Simone's music composition "Super Horsey" (https://youtu.be/pOAjx0YazLk) won the prize in the School level and has been sent to be considered at the Council level. Please like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/simonepugazh so we can keep you upto date on the progress
